The Transportation Infrastructure Durability Center (TIDC) is the 2018 US DOT Region 1 (New England) University Transportation Center (UTC) located at the University of Maine Advanced Structures and Composites Center. The TIDC’s focus is on extending the life and improving the durability of transportation assets. TIDC has six member Universities within the New England Region.
On August 13-15, representatives from TIDC traveled to Washington DC to participate in the inaugural USDOT Future of Innovation Summit, a first-ever showcase of University Transportation Center (UTC) implemented research. With over 400 transportation professionals in attendance to present their own research, it was a highly educational week of networking and learning.
The TIDC had five presentations during the event including 3 research posters, a lectern presentation, and a live demonstration.
