Mainebiz highlights Global Secure Shipping’s contributions to eliminating cargo theft

Global Secure Shipping (GSS), a spin-off company from the Advanced Structures and Composites Center (ASCC), has been featured in a Mainebiz article talking about Maine Shipping containers and GSS’s mission to eliminate cargo theft worldwide.

This technology, developed at the ASCC, was created to eliminate cargo theft worldwide, a $50-$60 billion loss annually. These shipping containers are made of composite materials that are significantly lighter than the traditional steel used in shipping containers. This allows ultra-thin sensors to be embedded into the containers, which can track the location of shipping containers worldwide.
