Orono, Maine – The Transportation Infrastructure Durability Center (TIDC) announced that registration is now open for the 2023 New England Railroad Symposium. The virtual event will be held on February 16 starting at 9 a.m. EST.

The symposium is an annual event that brings together researchers and industry professionals on the topic of emerging challenges and solutions in railroad infrastructure. Habib Dagher, ASCC executive director, will open the event with a welcome address. This year’s keynote speaker is David A. Fink, president of Pan Am Group LLC, who helped oversee the recent historic merger of CSX and Pan Am Railways.

The agenda includes three guest speaker and panel discussion sessions that highlight different facets of railroad infrastructure research and operation: National Perspective; TIDC Research in Action; and New England DOT, Owner & Operator Perspective. Panel discussion speakers include representatives from the state DOTs, Amtrak, the Federal Railroad Administration, Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority, RailTEC, CSX, and researchers from TIDC member universities.
