UMaine announces floating offshore wind partnership with UK’s ORE Catapult, Innovate UK and NREL to advance US supply chains

The University of Maine Advanced Structures & Composite Center (ASCC) announced a new partnership with Offshore Renewable Energy (ORE) Catapult and Innovate UK along with the U.S. National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL).  

Up to five U.K. companies will be chosen to receive between £300,000 and £500,000 in grant funding to engage with the ASCC and NREL to identify commercial and technical gaps to collaborate in leveraging the U.K. ‘s floating supply chain experience. 

“We are excited to work with the U.K. supply chain through this ORE Catapult collaboration to develop cost-effective solutions for U.S. and U.K. developers,” said Anthony Viselli, the ASCC’s Chief Engineer of Ocean Energy & Engineering, (renews.biz).
