BioHome3D Technology featured in IFJ

The Advanced Structures and Composites Center’s (ASCC) BioHome 3D was mentioned in an IFJ article outlining the industrial advantages to 3D printing.

BioHome 3D is the world’s largest bio-based 3D printed house, measuring 600 sq ft, 1 bedroom & 1 bathroom is the definition of affordable housing here in Maine. The BioHome is made entirely from wood waste, residual materials that create its bio-based structure and wood fiber insulation. The BioHome is designed as a solution to a nationwide housing crisis, scaling up this technology and making it more cost efficient and less time intensive could solve a national problem.
