Lu Wang wins Graduate Poster Competition at Northeast Agriculture and Biological Engineering Conference
PhD Candidate Lu Wang received first place in the graduate poster competition at the Northeast Agriculture and Biological Engineering Conference held in Orono, Maine. The poster was titled: “Mechanical properties of PLA from Fused Deposition Modeling.”
Lu Wang is pursuing his Ph.D. in Cellulose Nanofibril-Reinforced Plastics at the University of Maine under advisement of Dr. Douglas Gardner. Their team hopes to produce a 3D printed plastic, combined with Maine nanocellulose, that can compete with industrial synthetic plastics currently on the market.
The Northeast Agricultural and Biological Engineering Conference (NABEC) is a community of the American Society of Agricultural & Biological Engineers (ASABE). It is a geographically-based community, covering the Northeast United States and Eastern Canadian Provinces. Members living in these sections – Washington DC-Maryland, Ohio and former Connecticut Valley, North Atlantic, East Lake Ontario, Pennsylvania, Nova Scotia, Quebec and Ontario are a part of NABEC.
