UMaine Composites Center Spinoff Company Wins $10k Top Gun Showcase Prize
University of Maine Advanced Structures and Composites Center spinoff company Revolution Research, Inc.—founded by forest resources Ph.D. candidate Nadir Yildirim and civil engineering graduate Alexander Chasse—was awarded a $10,000 top prize from the Maine Technology Institute for the Top Gun Showcase 2016 on May 24, 2016. The company creates eco-friendly materials for the construction and packaging industries.

Top Gun is a program of the Maine Technology Institute, the Maine Center for Entrepreneurial Development, the Maine Department of Community and Economic Development, and the University of Maine.
RRI has participated in Innovation Engineering at the UMaine Foster Center for Student Innovation and won the 2015 UMaine Business Challenge. RRI has received several small business grants from the National Science Foundation, the Maine Technology Institute, and others. RRI is a finalist for GreenLight Maine, where 26 Maine entrepreneurs are competing for a $100,000 cash prize.
