NWRC Webinar: Maine’s Floating Offshore Wind Project Moving Forward
On January 29, 2016, Prof. Habib Dagher, Executive Director at the UMaine Composites Center, will present an update on the Maine Aqua Ventus project, a 12MW floating offshore wind pilot farm. The project recently received a U.S. Department of Energy award for $3.7 million that will allow the Aqua Ventus team to complete project planning, secure supply contracts, and approach financial close. Jeff Thaler, Assistant University Counsel and MAV Legal Counsel, will answer permitting questions. Thaler has been the attorney for the project since its inception in 2008.
This webinar is a presentation of the Northeast Wind Resource Center (NWRC). The NWRC is supported in part by a grant from the US Department of Energy and is managed by Clean Energy Group and Sustainable Energy Advantage. The Maine Ocean & Wind Industry Initiative serves as key liaison to the wind industry. For more information, visit the NWRC website at www.northeastwindcenter.org.
