Dr. Lech Muszyński is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Wood Science and Engineering at Oregon State University.  A native of Poland, he received his M.S. in Wood Technology and Ph.D. in Forestry and Wood Technology from the Agricultural University of Poznań.  In 1998-2004 he worked in the area of wood composites in the Advanced Engineered Wood Composites Center at the University of Maine.  His research area includes mechanical performance of solid wood, traditional wood-based composites as well as advanced hybrid wood-plastic and wood-FRP composites, with stress on interface performance, bonding, durability, damage assessment, fracture properties, time dependent phenomena, and hygro-mechanical behavior.  He teaches mechanics of wood and wood composites, and wood composites manufacturing.
