Bio & Research Interests

I grew up in Holden, ME and graduated from John Bapst High School in 2013. During high school I discovered my love for math and science, which lead me to the University of Maine’s Civil Engineering program. Through my undergraduate studies I learned more about the Civil Engineering profession and became intrigued by how much knowledge there was to gain in the different sub disciplines. When I became interested in Structural Engineering I made the decision to pursue graduate school because of the complex issues associated with structural engineering. As a Master’s student in the Civil Engineering Department at the University of Maine I am working with the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) investigating the material properties of Cor-tuf, an ultra-high performance concrete. My research is currently focused on the modification of Cor-tuf using cellulose nanofibrils (CNF) and cellulose nanocrystals (CNC).
