The University of Maine’s Advanced Structures and Composites Center is a world-leading, interdisciplinary center for research, education, and economic development encompassing material sciences, manufacturing, and engineering of composites and structures. The UMaine Composites Center evaluates materials and structures from nano- to full-scale within its 100,000 ft2 laboratory.

The UMaine Composites Center has attracted nearly $160 million in research funding and industrial contracts to UMaine. Since its founding with support from the National Science Foundation in 1996, the Center has financially supported more than 2,000 students, received 31 patents, and received 40 national and global awards for research excellence.
