UM blast-resistant wood impresses Army

ORONO – Maine’s federal legislative leaders are convinced that new technology unveiled Tuesday at the University of Maine not only will protect our troops overseas, but also will lead to jobs in Maine.

Nearly 100 UM faculty, students, community members and legislative leaders gathered at UM’s Advanced Engineered Wood Composites Center for the unveiling of a 12-foot-by-20-foot building made of specialized coated wood.
